OUR Featured Fly Tyer sessions are gaining momentum as the casual gathering of fly tying knowledge we hoped they would become.
The picture above show’s the casual round table atmosphere, where no question is stupid, and no idea how radical or simple for discussion. People are dropping in for 10 minutes, half an hours and some get “lured in” for the full session.
Basicaly if you enjoy tying and want an excuse to learn, to or simply enjoy spending some time with fellow fly tiers drop by every Saturday between 1.30pm and 3pm.
This week’s fly tier we “discovered” in the flat midge water below the Bull Shoals Dam. Its not the only place you will find retired San Juan fly tier and guide Richard Ramsay fishing but it might seem that way.
His years of experience on the San Juan, where the educated tailwater trout are even more schooled than our own and the standard midges are even smaller, allows Richard a different perspective on midge flies and how to fish them.
If you fish midges on the White this is a session not to be missed.
And of course the follow week, May 31 we are proud to host one of the White River’s best known tiers, Tony Spezio.
