The White River is fishing outstandingly with lots of 15-20″ fish “fat and sassy as the saying goes, and many of the browns are coloring up for the spawn. Generation on Norfork has dropped to 1 unit.

Norfork Hatchery Open House

Keep September 20 set aside for the Norfork National Fish Hatchery Open House, a celebration of the heart of the White River Fishery. The hatchery gives us all the lifeblood of the tremendous trout fishery we have on the White River system.
TU Chapter Can Collection on the White

If you spot some blue plastic barrels, painted with the Trout Unlimited Arkansas’ White River Chapter #698 logo, feel free to drop off as many soda can as you can manage.
The local TU chapter is placing these barrels for can collection at public accesses on the White River.

The White is offering thick browns like this 16″ and fish a whole lot better, while the Norfork remains underfished.
