We had to look twice at this picture Marc Poulos sent to us from a recent guide trip on the White. Marco tossing worms, surely not?
Marc still couldn’t giggling when he told us the story. Apparently while drifting below Rim Shoals, with some Dynamite Worms deep, one of Marc’s fly fisher’s got a hit and set the hook one something odd. When the fly came aboard it was a lamprey, not a worm, caught up in the Dynamite Worm.
We immediately accussed him of bait fishing but it was outside the C&R zone. So was this a worm eating lamprey or did Marc’s fly fisher “clean” the lamprey off the side of a trout.
Fact is often stranger than fiction.
