If you spot some blue plastic barrels, painted with the Trout Unlimited Arkansas’ White River Chapter #698 logo, feel free to drop off as many soda can as you can manage.
The local TU chapter is placing these barrels for can collection at public accesses on the White River.
Its a great way to get rid of all those cans, cluttering up your rubbish, do your bit for recycling and put some funds into this reactivated Chapter.
Cans will be placed at accesses including Bull Shoals, Wildcat, Rim Shoals, Buffalo City, White Hole and Ranchette.
Club volunteers also recently conducted a major river cleanup, the Chapter’s first official TU project, on the Norfork Tailwater, removing visible debris deposited by spring flooding.
Members were able to remove several large pieces of destroyed boat docks, styrofoam flotation, large pieces of sunken boats and other trash.
The Chapter meets the first Monday of every month at El Chico’s Restaurant in Mountain Home (off the 62 bypass near Home Depot).
The next meeting with be on September 2, social hour starts at 6pm and the meeting starts at 7.
