THE White might be flowing hard in the afternoons but you can still get into some great fish like Rob Hime’s streamer-eating brown and some of the big rainbows at the Dam featured in Davy’s Report. The Journal also spotted a true monster brown yesterday that had to be 20lb + cruising slowly in some soft water _ he is bookmarked for later reference. It has been a good week.
ALSO on the rumor mill is some goodly bursts of low water scheduled for August, as the AGFC starts on habitat work in the Bull Shoals Trophy Zone. There are some concerns over the actual placement of the rocks and boulders and a public meeting is tentatively scheduled for the evening of July 14. Stay tuned for more details, but it might be worth lining up some leave and getting your “honey-do” list out of the road.
WHITE RIVER: Flows have been dropping to around 2 units from midnight to 6am then cranking up into the mid to high teens all week. The morning bite has definately been stronger downstream, and there have been bunch of fish around.
Sowbugs have been doing very well, Davy’s Sowbugs and Clint’s Sowbugs, and midge patterns on the lower flows. On higher water San Juan and Dynamite worms and eggs have been very good.
White flies, zonkers, Bunny Leeches and Meat Whistles, have been fishing very well as streamers.

The predicted shut down for the White from what l understand is a compliance from SWP to allow for the work.
From 6am to 12pm, each day. As as August 1st.
If l here any different l will let you know guys.
Davy.
